A beloved Long Island ice cream truck driver and his wife underwent back-to-back medical emergencies, and the community has rallied to support them.
Ice cream truck driver Sonny Taluy suffered a stroke Nov. 2, 2025, and his wife, Lynn Taluy, had a heart attack on Jan. 29, 2026, the Taluys' son-in-law, Christopher Mandrachio, told Daily Voice.

Wilton Opens Warming Centers Through Jan. 27 As Cold Sticks Around
Wilton is making three warming centers available as a stretch of frigid weather is expected to continue into next week.
The town of Wilton said on Facebook that the locations will remain open through at least Tuesday, Jan. 27, and that most days will be below freezing for much of the day, with Thursday, Jan. 22, noted as the exception.

Comstock Community Center, 180 School Road: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Shelton PD Earns Calea National Accreditation
The Shelton Police Department has become the third police agency in Fairfield County to receive CALEA national accreditation, according to the Shelton Police Department's Facebook post.
