William O. Arner, 87, of Heidelberg Township, was discovered face down in Jordan Creek beneath the Geiger Covered Bridge in North Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, and pronounced dead at the scene at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.

A fatal hit-and-run that left a woman dead along a roadway is now under active investigation after troopers identified the victim and located the vehicle and driver, Pennsylvania State Police announced on Tuesday, Dec. 23.
Troopers from PSP Newport were dispatched at approximately 9:11 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 22, to Narrows Road just north of Royer Road in Miller Township for a report of an individual lying along the roadway, according to state police.

At 10:08 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, Atlantic City police responded to the 2000 block of Sheridan Avenue and found Christina Burdette unresponsive, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.

An investigation is underway after a 50-year-old state prison inmate was found dead inside his cell, Maryland State Police announced.
Billy Sorrow, 50, an inmate at the North Branch Correctional Institution in Cumberland, was declared dead on Saturday, Sept. 27, by paramedics, officials said.
Detectives said Sorrow was found lying on the floor and unresponsive after being in a cell with another inmate.

A Florida woman is dead after visiting her elderly parents in Maryland, police say.
Tallahassee resident Abby Elaine Dunn, 55, was shot on Friday afternoon while spending time with family in Dickerson, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Officers were called shortly after 4 p.m. on Sept. 12 to a home in the 23000 block of Mt. Ephraim Road to investigate a shooting.
