Photos: Car Goes Up In Flames On Route 17 In Sloatsburg A car caught fire on Route 17 in Rockland County on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 24, sending a large plume of smoke into the air.  The blaze happened in Sloatsburg shortly after 2 p.m., when a vehicle went up in flames on the northbound side of Route 17 near 950 Woodmont Ln., according to Ramapo Police.  Both Ramapo officers and the Sloatsburg Fire Department responded to the scene.  The flames have since been put out, The Monsey Scoop reported. No injuries were reported, according to the outlet.  Ramapo Police said to expect delays in the area.
