Haworth Police Officer's Cellphone Stop Turns Up Half-Pound Of Pot HAWORTH, N.J. -- A Haworth police officer who stopped a driver for using his cellphone found a half-pound of marijuana, THC gummies and a couple of THC capsules, authorities said. Officer Andrew Soltes pulled the 2017 Jeep Renegade over on Sunset Avenue on Monday, Detective Sgt. Justin Fox said. Inside the vehicle, 49-year-old Stephen F. Peist of Nutley had the pot and other contraband. Peist was released pending a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute it. He also received a summons for using his handheld cellphone while driving.

Man, 20, Busted For Operating Drug Factory In Greenwich A Greenwich man was busted on numerous drug violations after police pulled him over for a broken taillight and found hundreds of prescription pills and other drugs, according to the Greenwich Police Department. Frank Antony Futie, 20, was charged Wednesday during the stop on Sheephill Road with operation of a drug factory, possession of a controlled substance, and distribution of illegal drugs, after officers found more than 500 Alprazolam pills, a bag of cocaine, pot, THC, and packaging materials, said Lt. John Slusarz. He is being held on $5,000 bail with a court date of March 7.
